As early as the freshman year of high school, choosing the right courses and extracurricular activities can make a student’s profile more attractive to colleges and universities. Our comprehensive college planning services begin with attention to academic and extracurricular pursuits. Through detailed interviews, our college counselors get to know each student and learn about his or her dreams; with this knowledge, we guide students and parents in choosing appropriate coursework and meaningful extracurricular activities.

The college preparation process continues as we help students and families build a detailed profile, complete with the student’s academic record, extracurricular activities, a “brag” sheet, and an inventory of interests. In addition, we help students and families develop a standardized testing schedule and a recommendation letter strategy. We also offer a variety of standardized test preparation services.

College selection is a critical part of the planning process. Our knowledgeable counselors can help families and students prepare a broad list that will then be refined and finalized based on academic performance, standardized test results, and evolving interests and passions.

College Application Assistance

College applications can be daunting, particularly when they include multiple components and require completion by numerous individuals. With a proven, streamlined process, we can help families and students complete and submit applications on time.

College Essay Assistance

The personal statement and/or college essay is a wonderful opportunity for your child’s voice to be heard. Admissions officers read thousands of essays every year. Do you know what makes any one particular essay stand out? We can assist in the development and review of knockout college essays. One of our essay specialists will work closely with your son or daughter to help him or her brainstorm topics, revise, and edit—all to compose an essay that engages the reader and paints the most vivid picture of your child’s unique personality.

College Tours

Greenwich Education Group can assist with scheduling college tours, visits, and interviews. Tours can be tailored to students’ interests in a particular region or activity, and they can be arranged for both local and non-local families. On a recent college tour, we led a group of students on visits to the campuses of Tufts University, Boston University, MIT, Harvard University, and Northeastern University. Students met with coaches and crew team members at these schools, visited boat houses, and enjoyed some local flavor.
