Homeschool Services

Families make the decision to homeschool their children for many reasons, but designing and delivering a state-approved non-traditional curriculum can be a challenge. In addition to providing customized homeschooling instruction for individual students, Greenwich Education and Prep can assist families that have made the decision to homeschool their children in a variety of ways:

  • Counsel families on the homeschooling process and state laws
  • Provide a support group for families and students engaged in the process
  • In tandem with the needs and goals of families and students, develop a standard high school, Honors, or Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum and schedule
  • Provide one-on-one, student-focused instruction from our expert tutors using a variety of methods in major subject areas
  • Facilitate access to accredited Honors and AP courses
  • Compile records, transcripts, and progress reports

Greenwich Education and Prep’s homeschool program is an alternative to the traditional private or public school structure. With an emphasis on achieving distinct personal goals, our curricula are tailored to each individual student. We assist all of our students in developing their passions and engage them in learning through the one-on-one educational model for which we are known. Drawing from our diverse staff of subject professionals, scholars, and teachers trained in both the public and private sectors, we can create an individualized program of instruction to meet the needs of any child.

Greenwich Education and Prep has served a range of pupils, from kindergarten students learning phonics and counting to high school students preparing for AP and SAT tests. Our tutors and counselors have aided students in gaining admittance to top colleges and private schools and provided at-risk students with the support they need to pass grade level tests and develop life skills. We have also developed transitional programs for students who join us temporarily before transferring to the school of their choice. Our experienced instructors have training in core subjects such as Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science. One-and-one classes take place at our centers in New Canaan and Greenwich, where a host of extracurricular activities are available to our students, including organized sports, yoga, tai chi, martial arts, and community service.

We maintain close relationships with local public and private schools, we are familiar with their various admissions requirements, benchmark assessments and frameworks, and we are able to incorporate these needs into your child’s program. We have also designed non-traditional homeschool programs for families that seek an unconventional educational experience. In addition to core courses, we offer our students innovative classes such as Mandarin, Studio Art, Anatomy, Marketing, Philosophy, Graphic Design, Poetry, and Life Skills. We also offer all Advanced Placement (AP) courses, as well as creative, interdisciplinary studies. Course selection is a dynamic process based on each student's unique interests, abilities, and ambitions.

Because Greenwich Education and Prep’s homeschool programs are tailored to each individual student, we are able to take students of all ages and academic abilities. Semesters can begin at any time during the school year. For students who join us mid-year, we will create a program that builds on their recent coursework while continuing to move them closer to their goals. We have also designed specialized homeschool programs for LD students who need specific accommodations and teaching approaches. In addition to our comprehensive homeschool services, Greenwich Education and Prep offers individual courses to homeschool families that need to supplement their in-home educational programs with advanced or AP material. GEP’s Directors will meet with your family and review your child’s current academic records to determine the best educational plan.
